The Cincinnati Reds have been pleased with the production of Raisel Iglesias who wowed fans in the Arizona Fall League with only seven innings pitched in which he struck out seven, walked three and allowed one.
The 24-year old Iglesias, who immigrated from Cuba with his brother in November 2013 was signed by the Reds seven-year $27 million contract with a $5 million signing bonus.
(I saw) four pitches with command — that spells out starting pitcher, especially when it’s plus-stuff across the board. He was 93-97, so the velocity is there,” Manager Bryan Price told Rosecrans. “The action on his fastball is there, much better changeup than I anticipated seeing and two quality breaking balls and a good feel.
