Reds face Brewers this weekend

The Cincinnati Reds (32-57, 5th NL Central) are coming off a tough road trip where they won only three out of nine games and are currently riding a three game losing streak courtesy of the Florida Marlins who won 7-3 Sunday night at Marlins Park.  It was the first time the Marlins have swept the Reds since 2003.

“I’m happy,” Marlins manager Don Mattingly said. “I’ll just make sure our guys don’t think we’re satisfied. We’re in a good spot. We’re still six back. That’s the way we look at it. We just gotta keep going.”

The second half of the season kicks off this Friday as the Reds will host the Milwaukee Brewers with Anthony DeScalafani (3-0, 2.23 ERA) taking the mound for the Reds against the Brewers Matt Garza (1-2, 5.54 ERA).  DeScalafani has been solid since his return from the DL June 10th.
