Reds open season with win over Pirates

It was an exciting finish to an exciting opening as the Todd Frazier hit a three-run home run at the bottom of the 8th inning.  At the top of the 8th it was a 2-2 tie.  Reds Ace Johnny Cueto gave up four hits and one walk in seven innings while striking out 10.

“It’s really exciting,” Frazier said after the game. “We gave up two runs that inning and you saw the resilience we had and guys picking each other up.”

The city was certainly prepped for an opening day victory as they held an Opening Day Parade from Findlay Market to Taft Theater. One fan who has walked the parade for a decade was former Cincinnati Councilman Jim Tarbell.

“I think it means everything,” Tarbell said. “This is such a prime example of our heritage, of our culture, the fun lovers that we really are and don’t get credit for sometimes.”

There are two more games coming up with the Pirates tomorrow late afternoon and Thursday morning.  Plenty of great seats and affordable tickets are still available so get yours today and help cheer on your Reds!
