The road trip to Colorado has been a 50/50 affair up until now. With the final game four of their series tonight, the Reds have an opportunity to leave the Rockies series with a .750 winning percentage.
In game three last night, John Lamb pitched seven strong innings for a 7-2 win at Coors Field. Lamb allowed only one run, six hits, with a walk and two strikeouts for his first win of the season.
“It was a better day at the office than it’s been in the past without a doubt,” said Lamb
Lamb was referring to being 0-3 with a .685 ERA.
“[Lamb’s] offspeed is really slow,” Rockies Center-fielder Charlie Blackmon said. “He throws a cutter, so that can speed guys up inside, and then he slows them down with offspeed [pitches]. I don’t really know exactly why he was so effective tonight outside of throwing good pitches.”
