The Cincinnati Reds have certainly opened the season with all the drama baseball fans could want. In the three game stand against the Philadelphia Phillies, the Reds Joey Votto’s two-run single lifted the Reds past the Phillies for a 6-2 win. Last night, the Reds Scott Schebler delivered a bases loaded walk off double lifting the Reds to a 3-2 win and a 2-0 record to open the season.
“We really didn’t get things going until the eighth inning in the opener and the ninth inning tonight,” Reds manager Bryan Price said. “But, I think the guys feel like we have that ability. It’s not going to be like this all year. I think we have a really nice offensive ballclub, but in the games like this, I don’t think anyone in our lineup feels that we’re going to be behind, even with the tough setup guys coming in and closers, that we can’t still beat them. It’s a good sign. It’s a great way to start the season.”
The rubber game with the Phillies begins at 11:40 this afternoon and a new series with the Pirates begins tomorrow. Plenty of great seats and affordable tickets for all Reds games are still available so get out and cheer on your Cincinnati Reds!
